Undergraduate Research Symposia

Now Accepting Abstracts!

Academic conferences offer students an important opportunity to share their work with others, receive valuable feedback, engage in important networking activities and gain valuable experience to highlight on a resume. The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) strongly encourages all undergraduates who are in a position to present their work to do so at the U of I Undergraduate Research Symposium and if possible at professional conferences.

University, State and National Symposia

The Idaho Conference on Undergraduate Research (ICUR), the first of its kind in the state of Idaho, is a celebration showcasing the leading edge of undergraduate research in all disciplines. Undergraduate students of diverse backgrounds and disciplines from across the state gather to present their research to their peers, educators and the public. ICUR is an annual, two-day conference held at the end of July in Boise, Idaho.

The National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) promotes undergraduate research, scholarship and creative activity done in partnership with faculty or other mentors as a vital component of higher education. Through this three-day annual conference, NCUR celebrates and promotes undergraduate student achievement, and provides models of exemplary research and scholarship. NCUR provides access to the conference to under-represented students and assists in the development of networks and support structures among those students. For more information, visit the NCUR website.

Departmental, Program and College Symposia

The Office of Undergraduate Research hosts a university-wide undergraduate research symposium in April. This annual symposium is designed to showcase and celebrate the research and scholarly work in all disciplines by undergraduates at University of Idaho. The event is open to the public.
