Alumni-created nonprofit S H E empowers girls in Togo and students at the University of Idaho

Upon graduating in 2017, Payton McGriff founded S H E | Style Her Empowered, a non-profit that creates educational and employment opportunities for women and girls in Togo. But, it’s not just students in Togo that she is empowering.

McGriff has continued to involve students from the University of Idaho in her work, including architecture students in the design for a new school and education students in development of learning materials.

Students in the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences translated those educational materials into French, creating lesson plans and worksheets that students in Togo can more easily understand.
