University of Idaho Spirit Squad features high energy cheering, stunting, tumbling and dance performances. The Vandals are looking for talented, energetic and articulate young men and women who are enthusiastic about cheering for some of the most dynamic athletic teams in the Big Sky conferences.

The Vandal Spirit Squad has been known for many years as the face of University of Idaho. The Idaho Spirit Squad consists of the Vandal Cheer Team, the Vandal Gems and Joe Vandal. All three entities work together as one unit for game days, events and performances. The Spirit Squad truly bleeds Silver and Gold because they want to provide the best experience they can for Vandal fans.

Vandal Cheer

Cheerleading at University of Idaho consist of male and female members. U of I cheerleaders work hard to learn and perform high-flying stunts, dance routines, chants and tumbling to entertain fans during time-outs and halftimes. Along with their commitments to athletic events, the Vandal Cheer Squad competes each season at USA Collegiate Spirit Nationals in Anaheim, Calif.

Vandal Gems Dance Team

The University of Idaho Vandal Gems Dance Team are talented, animated and expressive when it comes to performing. They are passionate about supporting their athletic teams, while equally excited to show off their skills for Vandal fans. They do performances at every home Football Game and select Men’s and Women’s Basketball games.

Along with their commitments to athletic events, the Vandal Gems are also a D1 competitive program. They compete each season at USA Collegiate Spirit Nationals in Anaheim, Calif.
